Keystroke is a visualizer for Wayland compositors. It displays the keys you press in real-time, helping you to understand your typing patterns or presenting your typing live to others. Perfect for demonstrations, tutorials, or just for fun!
Before you begin, ensure your system meets the following requirements:
To get started with keystroke, you need to download the application from the Releases page. Follow these simple steps:
Click the button below to go to the download page.
On the Releases page, find the latest version under “Downloads”.
Choose the file appropriate for your system. For most users, this will be the . AppImage file.

Once you have downloaded the file, locate it in your downloads folder.
Make the file executable. You can typically do this by right-clicking on the file, selecting “Properties”, and then checking the “Allow executing file as program” box.
You can also do this from the terminal:
chmod +x path/to/keystroke.AppImage
Now, you’re ready to run keystroke. Double-click the file or run it from your terminal:
./path/to/keystroke.AppImage
